Uber Eats wanted to have a seriously delicious impact at SXSW 2019, and Uber and JUMP Bike wanted in on the fun, too. By brokering marquee sponsorships for each line of business, the Uber platform took SXSW 2019 by storm. The Uber Eats house featured performances from Billie Eilish, Khalid, and Virgil Abloh, and exclusive dinners with David Chang and Roy Choi. By pairing Uber Eats restaurant partners with each artist and chef, we established the brand’s position as the freshest, most culturally relevant delivery platform in the US. With a double-digit increase in sales in the month after SXSW, Uber Eats’ influence extended far beyond Texas, and JUMP Bike and Uber worked hand-in-hand with the City of Austin and SXSW for a fully customized pickup/drop-off program during the festival.
