David Dann is the founder of Mind of a Genius Records, and a celebrated electronic producer and DJ.
In late 2019, David Dann felt a calling to go back to his roots of being a producer, songwriter, and DJ. The widely lauded and celebrated founder of Mind of a Genius Records started seeing a space in the electronic world for more elevated, soulful deep house music. From there, David Dann did what he knows best – started creating timeless music.
The first single from the relaunch, titled “You & Me”, featured hypnotic vocals from French singer-songwriter NICOLAS, and was celebrated in the press extensively via Billboard, UPROXX, LA Weekly, Earmilk, EDM.com, and countless other influential media outlets.
As David continued to release new singles from his forthcoming EP in 2021, Rediscovered, Spotify and Apple Music supported him extensively with each track scoring prime editorial placement across Friday Cratediggers and New In Dance, respectively.
Along the way, David secured a residency with famed nightlife savants h.wood Group at Poppy Nightclub. The three dates across 2021 were blockbusters – grossing six figures and selling out tickets and tables each night. Rediscovered was released on the final night of the residency in December 2021.
David is back in the studio working on a new live electronic project called The Middle Way, and is continually building the roster at Mind of a Genius Records with rising stars Mindchatter, Peter $un, and BINTA.
